Apple Picking

Now that Labor Day has passed, it's officially fall! What do we do in the fall? Go apple picking of course!  Well we didn't really pick any apples, but we went to an apple orchard so that's close enough, right?  We went to a nice orchard in the south of Wisconsin called Apple Holler and Atticus had an absolute blast so by extension the whole Choibson clan did as well.  It had farm animals (Atticus not a fan), corn maze (Atticus not a fan), haunted house (Atticus not a fan), Kiddie Corral (Atticus major fan), and an apple orchard.  We spent about three hours there and had a blast.  We will be heading back every year and hopefully do some apple picking at some point.

Here we are, the Apple Holler Orchard.  Only complaint would be the port-a-potty plunked in the middle of the action, plus the terrible food that was served at the restaurant.  But you have to applaud the pun.

This is Atticus's second approach to the goat pen. The first one - not captured on film - ended in tears. Note the body position this time, angled for a quick getaway.

Yep. That was as close as he got. With a pivot and sprint that recalled Ian Rush in front of goal during Liverpool's glory years, Atticus fled, deciding wisely that discretion is the better part of valour.

Atticus has just started to get more stable on his feet and has started to test them too.  He spent about ten minutes going up and down this bridge.

The Choo-Choo train was Atticus's favorite feature of the orchard, even after busting his lip when he fell while trying to jump on a seat.

Pure joy.  This is what it's all about.

Hay mountain.

It took me until after we got home and looked at the photos to figure out that we were victims of the infamous Wisconsin vulgarity.

On the climbing wall. Admittedly he didn't get too high, but then I don't think it was sized for felllas who top out at 30 inches.

Apparently the tyre was in the wrong place and needed to be moved.

It was a beautiful day back in the suburbs also. My new wide-angle lens (early birthday present) in action.
