Camping in the Wisconsin Dells

This was a joint father's day/Atticus pre-birthday trip. We drove up to a campsite in the Dells called Stand Rock. It was nice - not full, not noisy, not dirty. Beautiful spot up in a forest clearing. The boys behaved tolerably; the weather behaved slightly better. Here are some of the photos.

Starting with the site itself. Very impressed!

Lowell demolished his melon slices.

Hot dogs artfully conflagrated.

Team shot.

Sound as a pound! Atticus perfects his Liam Gallagher walk.

Day two. Ice creams in the Kalahari waterpark (just outside the historically authentic Zulu Bar).

Paterfamilias shot by youngest son.

Not entirely clear why the Graham crackers were repurposed as ear-muffs. But then I've stopped enquiring.

Our acre and the Lord of the Manor.

And this happened.

Marshmallows for breakfast!!

Lowell having his al dente.

Washed down with one of many small bottles of water we bought from the camp shop, having forgotten to bring any.

And day three! Almost overdosing on Americana, we took the original Wisconsin Ducks tour down the river and into the lake. Lowell was petrified, bless him. Atticus was nervous also, and kept asking the driver/captain to slow down (when he was puttering in the river at ~3 knots).

Not a fan. Although this didn't stop Lisa from having a blast.

Lowell's defense mechanism at play. When something sucks, close your eyes.
